Alberta’s Ethnocultural Grant Program anticipated to open in fall 2025
Two streams will support community-led initiatives to foster welcoming multicultural communities across Alberta. Stream 1 provides up to $50,000 for projects that create opportunities for intercultural connections with ethnocultural and Indigenous groups. Stream 2 provides up to $15,000 to projects that create opportunities to celebrate diversity.
Alberta Export Expansion Program (AEEP) open
The AEEP provides grants to export-ready small and medium-sized businesses to attend international trade events. Eligible companies can receive up to $15,000 per fiscal year to cover event registration and per diems for up to two travelers. The program is first-come, first-served, with a $2 million budget for 2025–26. Funding to help export-ready companies and non-profit organizations enhance access to international markets and attract global buyers.
Alberta Indigenous Employment Training Partnerships Program open
Indigenous Employment Training Partnerships provides grant funding to Indigenous communities and organizations to deliver group-training projects designed in partnership with employers and other partners.
Arts and Culture Microgrant- Calgary open

Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage Program – Legacy Fund Stream open
This funding stream provides funding for community – initiative capital projects, intended for community use.
- Application Deadline: Projects must be submitted before the anniversary date of the event or personality to be commemorated.
- Amount: Recipients may receive up to 50 per cent of eligible project expenses up to a maximum of $500,000.

Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage Program – Local Festivals open
This funding stream provides funding to local groups for recurring festivals that present the work of local artists, artisans, or heritage performers. This includes the celebration of LGBTQ2+ communities and Indigenous cultural celebrations.
- Application Deadline: January 31 – for festivals starting between September 1 and December 31 of the same calendar year; April 30 – for festivals starting between January 1 and June 30 of the next calendar year; and October 15 – for festivals starting between July 1 and August 31 of the next calendar year.
- Amount: Applicants may request up to 100 per cent of eligible expenses up to a maximum of $200,000.

Business Improvement Area Grants- Edmonton applications will close October 31, 2025 Storefront Improvement Grant This is a matching reimbursement grant for large, significant exterior renovations, up to 50% of project costs. Mid-block buildings may be eligible for up to $25,000. Corner buildings may be eligible for up to $50,000. Projects which have begun construction before being approved and entering into a Reimbursement Agreement are not eligible for grant funding.
Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant (CAPG) applications will open fall 2025
Eligible employers can get government funding to help employees and unemployed Albertans access training opportunities (CAPG has replaced the Canada-Alberta Job Grant).
Canada Arts Presentation Fund – Professional Arts Festivals and Performing Arts Series Presenters open
This funding stream supports existing professional arts festivals and performing arts series presenters to offer activities that connect artists with their Canadian communities.
- Application Deadline: April 1st and October 15th for projects which will occur after April 1st of the following year (April 1st is the application deadline for projects starting between April 1st and June 30th of the following year.
- Amount: For Professional Arts Festivals, we can fund up to 25% of eligible expenses or a maximum of $100,000 per fiscal year in the case of grants and 25% of eligible expenses or $500,000 per year in the case of contributions.

Canada Cultural Spaces Fund open
This fund supports the improvement of physical conditions for arts, heritage culture and creative innovation. The fund supports renovation and construction projects, the acquisition of specialized equipment and feasibility studies related to cultural spaces.

The Indigenous Organizations component of Creating, Knowing and Sharing funds First Nations, Inuit and Métis organizations that engage in contemporary, customary or traditional artistic and cultural activities. These activities can include non-Indigenous artists and collaborations with non-Indigenous organizations. Grants support the exploration of innovative strategies for Indigenous creative and cultural expression, and related administrative activities.

Community Opportunity Readiness Program open
This program addresses the financial needs of Indigenous communities when they are in pursuit of, and wish to participate in, an economic opportunity. The program is a consolidation of the former community economic opportunities program, the major projects investment fund, and the community-based components of the Indigenous business development program.

- Amount: Assistance will be commensurate with assessment of the risk involved, the resources of the recipient, and the benefit to the First Nation and Inuit community. Assistance will generally be determined on the basis that the amount and level of funding are the minimum required to ensure that the project can proceed. Assistance will be provided only to those initiatives that, in the opinion of the minister, would not otherwise proceed in the proposed location, proposed scope, or proposed time without such assistance.

First Nations Development Fund Grant Program open
Projects that receive FNDF grants are determined by community priorities set by each First Nation’s Chief and Council. Since 2006, the FNDF has provided more than $2 billion to First Nations in support of over 5,000 economic, social and community development projects including:housing projects, children, youth and Elders’ programs, cultural programs, business start-up and expansion, employment and training programs.
First Nation Infrastructure Fund open until fall
The First Nation Infrastructure Fund (FNIF) helps First Nations communities upgrade and increase public infrastructure to improve the quality of life and the environment in First Nations communities. The FNIF supports a wide range of infrastructure projects on reserves, Crown land or land set aside for the use and benefit of First Nations. The FNIF targets infrastructure categories with long-standing community needs.
Indigenous Arts Individual Project Funding open until March 2
This funding provides up to $18,000 to support the development of an individual Indigenous artist, arts administrators, or an ensemble of artists in Alberta by providing funding for a specific cultural or artistic project.

Indigenous Youth Entrepreneur (IYE) Program open
The Alberta Indian Investment Corporation (AIIC) is proud to introduce the Indigenous Youth Entrepreneur (IYE) Program, developed by NACCA to help young Indigenous people bring their business ideas to life. Open to youth ages 18–39, the program offers up to $25,000 in financing, with as much as 45% provided as a non-repayable contribution (grant). Museum Assistance Program – Exhibition Circulation Fund:
This funding opportunity assists museums with the costs related to the hosting of travelling exhibitions originating from another museum or from a federal heritage institution and the borrowing of artefacts from any of the National museums of Canada. Indigenous governing bodies or organizations with a mandate to preserve and support Indigenous heritage are eligible to apply.

Na-mi-quai-ni-mak Community Support Fund open
Funds are available to support Indigenous communities, Survivor Organizations, registered non-profits, and others with small grants for memorial activities.
NRED open closes November 28th
The Northern and Regional Economic Development (NRED) Program funds initiatives led by Alberta municipalities, Indigenous communities and non-profit organizations that promote regional economic development and diversification. Approved applicants are eligible to receive between $10,000 to $300,000 to support eligible project costs. While there is no maximum total project cost under the program, grant funding will not exceed $300,000 per project.
Oshki Wupoowane | The Blanket Fund open
The Blanket Fund will provide support for Indigenous cultural, artistic, and educational activities. Offered through two grant streams (Reconciliation Action Grants and Capacity Building Grants), The Blanket Fund can be accessed by both grassroots Indigenous communities and organizations, and by Indigenous individuals undertaking related initiatives.
