Career Opportunity: Marketing Specialist
Indigenous Tourism Alberta (ITA) is a non-profit organization devoted to help grow and promote authentic, sustainable and culturally rich Indigenous tourism experiences we want to share with the world.
We are looking for a Marketing Specialist to join the team to help execute multi-platform marketing strategies that will inspire travellers to book an Indigenous experience in Alberta. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the successful candidate will have a passion for supporting the stories, culture and entrepreneurial spirit of ITA’s members, and the experience and knowledge to help execute effective and inspiring marketing tactics in social-media, content development and consumer marketing.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate on the creation, posting, maintenance and community management of ITA’s social-media accounts and website.
- Organize and deliver corporate communications such as e-newsletters.
- Help manage the creation of inspiring content, including blogs, photos, videos and social-media posts.
- Help execute consumer marketing campaigns that align with ITA’s consumer-marketing strategy.
- Manage relationships with agency and industry partners to improve overall marketing and ensure Indigenous voices are a fundamental part of the travel brand of Alberta.
- Analyze campaign performance and social-media analytics to ensure data-driven decisions are made.
- Ensure marketing activities align with Indigenous values and proper cultural Protocol is followed.
- Adapt marketing messages for B2B and travel-trade opportunities.
What you need:
- A degree in marketing or communications or a related field, with digital marketing or equivalent experience.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Indigenous cultural knowledge and experience with Indigenous communities is considered an asset.
- A passion for emotional storytelling and the ways in which humans use stories to understand the world.
- Versatility and adaptability, a willingness to learn and teach, and a positive attitude.
- Attention to detail
- Self-directed, able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
