Blackfoot Grill was started by a father and son duo of Brent and Clayton Chief Body from the Blood Reserve in Southern Alberta Canada in March of 2016. With a small grant and loan, the food trailer was purchased and was set up in Stand Off, Alberta to serve local residents. During the Summer and Fall, Blackfoot Grill began to service Pow Wow’s, Farmer’s Markets, and special events in the Crowsnest Pass, Cardston, Lethbridge, Fort Macleod, Blood Reserve, Raymond, Sikisika Nation, Peigan Nation, and Calgary. During the winter, Blackfoot Grill set up their catering operations offering food and beverage services for meetings, funerals, weddings, and other special events. After two years, Blackfoot Grill acquired the Iitoy’op Restaurant at the Blood Tribe administration building, and after a revamp of the property opened on April.1, 2018. Blackfoot Grill Stand-Off location offers lunch services from 11:00-4:00 pm and is the new base of operations for the catering department.
