The Indigenous Artist Market Collective is a grassroots group of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis artists, creatives, traditional knowledge holders, performers, and entrepreneurs, who are working together to share their culture, stories, and knowledge with the world around them. Founded in 2018, it started with only four members, but are forecast to reach 100+ members. Their main basis is at the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market every weekend, but they also have a partnership with many local visitor attractions like Fort Edmonton Park where they are set up 5 days a week with a pop-up store inside the Indigenous Peoples Experience Building May till Sept.Their artists and performers are invited to numerous festivals, events, conferences, and private venues to share the indigenous experience. Their artists practice a multitude of mediums from painters, stained glass, photography, traditional crafts, fashion design, and contemporary arts. Among them, they have several artists who are highly skilled as instructors, and public and motivational speakers who can be commissioned to bring an authentic indigenous experience to your event. IAM Collective also holds authentic indigenous experience events throughout the year including the annual signature event – A Very Indigenous Holiday Market.
