Carter-Ryan Gallery and Live Art Venue

Canmore, Alberta

Things To Do|Art Galleries, Artisan & Craft Goods, Theatres & Performance Venues

Welcome to the Carter-Ryan Gallery and Live Art Venue, where they celebrate the works of Jason Carter, acclaimed Aboriginal soapstone sculptor, and painter. ‘Bold’ and ‘brilliant’ are two words that have often been used to describe this prolific visual artist. By day, Jason can be found doing carving demonstrations and as well, offers intimate carvings workshops for groups of up to 20. By night, Bridget Ryan’s passion for musical theatre infuses the gallery with song, humor, and outstanding live entertainment all year long. Perfect for families and groups of all sizes, the gallery becomes a 75-seat theatre where shows like Canada The Musical, A Christmas Carol, and Mavericks of the Mountains most definitely have guests from all over the world singing along and laughing in the aisles!

Stay in Touch

Indigenous Tourism Alberta (ITA) is a non-profit organization devoted to help grow and promote authentic,
sustainable and culturally rich Indigenous tourism experiences we want to share with the world.

All of us at Indigenous Tourism Alberta acknowledge that we are on the traditional territories of many diverse First Nations, Métis and Inuit. We recognize with respect the traditional territories of Treaty 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10. We also acknowledge the homelands of the Otipemsiwak Metis Government, including the eight Métis Settlements, the 22 Métis Districts, and all Métis communities who call this land their home. We recognize this land is home to a unique and diverse range of Indigenous people of their own sovereignty. We are grateful for the traditional knowledge keepers and elders that are still with us today.
