Warrior Women
Jasper, Alberta
Things To Do|Indigenous Experiences
The Warrior Women are Matricia and Mackenzie Brown, a dynamic Cree mother-daughter duo. They are dedicated to education and offering guests a taste of Indigenous knowledge and cultures. The experiences include fireside chats, beading workshops and medicine walks. Warrior Women also host drumming and singing performances with songs in English and Cree.
Warrior Women is based in Jasper but Matricia and Mackenzie have worked throughout the province. They hold weekly drop-in fireside chats at Tekarra Lodge in the summer. A virtual plant walk and talk is also available for those who can’t get to Jasper but still seek a meaningful connection to the land. School programming includes dark sky and spirit animal workshops and crafts like loom beading and creating dream catchers.
