Morley, Alberta

Your Indige-scape with Iinisskimmaakii, Buffalo Stone Woman, involves a guided exploration of scenic trails situated in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. This majestic landscape is the traditional territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani) and is also home to the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3) and all people who settle or stay in the Treaty Seven region of Southern Alberta. You will explore some of the most beautiful sceneries in the world, ranging from aspen-forested foothills to wildflower-blooming subalpine meadows and ice-clad towering mountain peaks. You’ll hike beside crystal blue lakes and under awe-inspiring cliffside waterfalls, then meet the ancient glaciers that feed them. But unlike other tours of the mountain trails, each Indige-scape experience is delivered from an Indigenous perspective, inviting participants to embrace the beauty of their sublime surroundings while learning from important stories of the past and considering how they might inform todays ways of living. Buffalo Stone Woman’s tours invite you to connect with nature while gaining new perspectives from the Indigenous traditions that emerged out of this land. Here, you will find opportunities to embrace the beauty and diversity of life in the Rockies, enriched with cultural experiences that are customized for your family, group or personal interests.
