ITA presents at the 2018 Travel Alberta Industry Conference in Banff - October 23, 2018

ITA Board representatives Brenda Holder, John Ritchie and Hal Eagletail as well as ITA Executive Director Tarra Wright Many Chief attended the Travel Alberta Industry Conference (TAIC) in Banff, October 21-23, 2018.
Honourable Ricardo Miranda, Minister of Culture and Tourism, and Royce Chwin, CEO, Travel Alberta, discussed the significance of the Alberta visitor economy and its importance to provincial economic growth, diversification, and job creation.
ITA presented to the conference attendees and reported on their new five-year strategy and how it is designed to support and grow authentic Indigenous tourism across Alberta. The presentation also explained the three strategic priorities for ITA:
1: Lead the growth and development of Alberta’s Indigenous tourism industry.
2: Develop sustainable market-ready and export-ready Indigenous tourism products.
3: Increase demand for Alberta’s Indigenous tourism experiences.
TAIC is presented by Travel Alberta and hosted at the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel, TAIC is the annual event where people from across the provincial tourism industry come to learn, advocate, develop and celebrate their roles as entrepreneurs, leaders in marketing and pillars of the provincial economy.
2018 marked the 19th anniversary of TAIC, an event gathering the best and brightest in tourism from across the province to share ideas, trends and best practices to support an industry that has buoyed Alberta through an economic downturn, and is helping lead the way through recovery. Travel Alberta announced that TAIC 2018 was a great success once again thanked all who participated.
